Chai Tres Leches
If we could eat one dessert for the rest of our lives, it would have to be this Chai Tres Leches curated by our friend Amina Abrar. It's infused with our Unsweetened Chai Concentrate. Super aromatic and flavorful. Fun for any party. Watch the video here.
Ingredients - Part 1
1 cup of The Chai Box Unsweetened Chai Concentrate
1 cup of Dairy Milk
1 cup of Evaporated Milk
1/2 cup of Condensed Milk
Ingredients - Part 2 (Icing)
1/2 cup of whipping cream
2 tbsp powdered sugar
1/4 cup of The Chai Box Unsweetened Chai Concentrate
1 tsp cocoa powder
Whole spices for topping
Instructions
Bake your favorite yellow or white cake following the instructions on the box.
While the cake is baking, bring milk and 1 cup of The Chai Box Unsweetened Chai Concentrate to a boil. Once bubbly, remove from the heat and add to a measuring cup. Then add the condensed milk and evaporated milk (now referred to as the "Chai Tres Leches Sauce" mixture) to the Chai mixture. Whisk until combined.
Once the cake is baked and out of the oven, immediately poke holes in it (while hot) and gently pour the Chai Tres Leches Sauce (reserving some for the next day). Let it soak overnight in the refrigerator.
The next morning, make your icing, by whipping your whipping cream, powdered sugar and 1/4 cup of The Chai Box Unsweetened Chai Concentrate until reaching a desired texture. Sprinkle on some cocoa powder and decorate with whole spices if desired. Add the reserved Chai Tres Leches Sauce for some extra indulgence and flavor.
